ORATAPE MT95 Application Tape
ORAFOL's transparent polyethylene-film application tape for transferring cut vinyl graphics: 147-micron film-plus-adhesive build with a measured 2 N/25 mm adhesion — specified from ORAFOL Europe's 2023/49 technical datasheet and February 2026 compliance document.
What it is
A transparent, polyethylene-film application tape (ORAFOL describes a fine-pocked finish) used to lift weeded, computer-cut vinyl letters and graphics from their liner and apply them to the substrate. Film tapes like MT95 suit wet and dry application and let you see positioning through the tape.
Who it may be relevant for: Sign makers and garment decorators transferring cut self-adhesive vinyl — the workflow step between weeding and application.
UK market notes
- UK supply follows ORAFOL Europe GmbH's documentation, and ORAFOL's own dealer page lists Great Britain distributors: ADAPT (Nottingham), Antalis Ltd (Coalville), Spandex UK (Bristol), Vink Manchester and Vink Scotland (Glasgow).
- ORAFOL's ORACAL 651 page names MT95 among its recommended application tapes; the MT95 page itself states suitability for almost all well-known glossy or matt films without naming specific ORACAL products — each statement is cited to the page that makes it.
Specifications

| Thickness | 147 µm film with adhesive (TDS); film alone 0.095 mm (product page) — complementary figures, not a conflict | Verified[2] |
| Adhesive | Modified polyacrylate, medium adhesive strength; adhesive power 2 N/25 mm (FINAT TM 1, after 20 minutes, stainless steel); weight 107 g/m² | Verified[2] |
| Mechanical | Tensile strength min. 20 MPa and elongation at break min. 450 % in both directions (DIN EN ISO 527) | Verified[2] |
Application (ORAFOL guidance)
| Specification | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum application temperature | Above +10 °C | Verified[2] |
| Removability | ORAFOL states residue-free removal even after more than six months of application, and suitability for almost all well-known glossy or matt-finished films | Verified[1] |
Formats (Europe)
| Specification | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Roll formats | European widths: 500, 610, 1000 and 1220 mm; lengths 50 m or 100 m | Verified[1] |
Storage
| Specification | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Shelf life | 2 years in original packaging at 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity | Verified[2] |
Compliance (Europe)
| Specification | Value | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| EU chemical compliance | REACH article with no SVHC above 0.1 % w/w (candidate list of 4 February 2026); RoHS 3 (2011/65/EU) compliant; no synthetic polymer microparticles | Verified[3] |
Documented compatibility
- ORACAL 651 Intermediate Cal — ORAFOL's ORACAL 651 page names ORATAPE MT95 among its recommended application tapes.
Limitations
- Adhesion figures are laboratory values on the TDS's stated test conditions — tack against a specific vinyl and substrate should be tested before production runs.
- The MT95 page names no specific ORACAL films; film-specific pairing statements live on the film pages.
- UK availability is via ORAFOL's listed Great Britain distributors — formats stocked locally may be a subset of the European programme.
Material
ORACAL 651 Intermediate Cal
ORAFOL's workhorse calendered sign vinyl, specified here from the European documentation that governs UK supply: 70-micron polymeric PVC with a permanent polyacrylate adhesive and up to five years' rated vertical outdoor durability in a Central European climate — with the differing US-market figures identified separately.
Equipment
Roland DG VersaSTUDIO BN2-20A
Roland DG's current desktop eco-solvent print-and-cut machine: 480 mm maximum print/cut width, CMYK 220 ml cartridges and VersaWorks — specified from Roland DG's en-GB page and EMEA datasheet, which also confirm the original BN-20 is no longer available.
Equipment
Roland DG VersaSTUDIO GS2-24
Roland DG's current desktop vinyl cutter: 584 mm maximum cutting width, 30–500 gf blade force and servo drive — specified from Roland DGA's product page and the April 2026 datasheet, including the warranty's registration small print.
